Welcome to the Temple of Kriya Yoga. The Temple has its roots in Hyde Park, where Goswami Kriyananda lived and taught during the 1950s and 60s. As interest in his teachings grew and the number of students increased, Kriyananda saw the need for a place to study and meet together to support one another’s practice. The Temple was founded in order to create such a community and to preserve the teachings of his own Guru, Sri Shelliji.
Kriyananda, in founding the Temple, honored Shelly’s goal of helping mankind reach a higher level of spiritual unfoldment and to be happy now, in this lifetime, through the practice of Kriya Yoga.
Today the Temple of Kriya Yoga is an oasis of learning, offering Hatha Yoga classes for all levels, meditations at noon every Sunday, music and silent meditations, heart to heart discussions, a seminary and educational training for those who want to teach Hatha Yoga or meditation. The website provides access to many of the Temple resources. It also gives students and seekers from all over the world access to the lectures and seminars of Goswami Kriyananda. Much effort has gone into archiving Kriyananda’s teachings and making them readily and easily available. Feel free to explore, discover and learn and thank you for being a part of the Temple of Kriya Yoga.
